Arosa A-Z
The enduring and glistening pearl of Arosa
As a member of the Alpine Pearls, Arosa received the distinction «Pearl of the Alps» a few years ago in recognition of its efforts to promote sustainable tourism and environmentally friendly mobility. Arosa's trailblazing approach in this area was honoured once again when it was given the Swiss Award for Location Management in summer 2009. But the Alpine town has no intention of resting on its laurels, and progress and ongoing self-improvement are at the top of Arosa's wish-list this winter as well.
Our incentive and challenge each and every day here in Arosa is to bring this romantic pearl nestled high in the breathtaking valley between Chur and Arosa closer to our valued visitors, and to offer them unforgettable moments and singular experiences. We are proud to welcome you to Arosa, and we aim to do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable.
At 1,800 metres above sea level, the historic village of Arosa is guaranteed snow. The many hours of sunlight mean that a season card for the Arosa mountain railways for the 2009/10 winter season is an extremely worthwhile investment.
Our winter hiking routes, sledging tracks (now from Tschuggen directly to the Innerarosa chair lift), wide range of winter sport opportunities and – last but not least – excellent (new) ice rinks both inside and outside the Arosa ice sports centre are testament to our well-deserved reputation as an active, sporting holiday destination.
Have fun – and spread the word!
Arosa's vibrant culinary and cultural scene is just as much a part of the town as its sporting tradition.
Arosa has long been held in high esteem as one of the most innovative holiday regions in Europe. Events and guest activities therefore play a vital role not just in winter but throughout the year as well – not least in the media. This winter, the Arosa Comedy Festival and the world's best ice-hockey teams (ZSC Lions, Switzerland and Sweden) will provide plenty of laughs and excitement. What is more, the Swiss ski instructors' championships and a large outdoor concert will extend the winter until mid-April. We invite you to come and enjoy these highlights with us.
We in Arosa cannot imagine any corner of the world more beautiful than our very own pearl here in the Alps – and we value each and every hour, experience and smile that we are privileged to share with our guests.
