Legendary Arosa – situated at the end of a wild mountain valley. A little gem in the heart of the canton of Graubünden, Arosa is woven with legends and offers a stunning natural landscape.
The location itself already makes Arosa stand out from other holiday resorts. Arosa has all kinds of surprises to offer, from sports to culture. It is a particular favourite for walkers and hikers in search of peace and calm. In winter the network of prepared hiking trails stretches over more than 60 kilometres. Most pass through the winter sports area, so hikers, too, can enjoy the cosy mountain huts.
In summer there is a special «Legends of Arosa» hiking map available, as well as short or long hikes through picturesque forests, past crystal clear mountain lakes, 2900-metre-high peaks and many other wonders of nature – all to be found on the carefully maintained, marked hiking trails.
Keep your eyes peeled and you may well see squirrels, chamois, marmots, red deer, ibex, peregrines and even a golden eagle or two.
Between Arosa village and the Weisshorn chalk soil and chalk-free soil meet and therefore create a home to over 900 different flowering plants, 30 types of fern, 250 species of moss and numerous fungi.
