Arosa Comedy Festival
Enjoy eleven days of snow and comedy at 2000 metres above sea level: the Comedy Festival – Switzerland's biggest comedy and cabaret festival – has been held in the snow-covered Arosa mountains during the run-up to Christmas for nearly 20 years.
Everybody who is anybody has appeared on the stage at the Arosa Comedy Festival in recent years. This includes famous Swiss artists such as the Acapickels, the Fischbach duo, Gardi Hutter, Marco Rima, Massimo Rocchi and Ursus & Nadeschkin. And from abroad, performers such as Josef Hader, Michael Mittermeier, Dieter Nuhr, Gerhard Polt and Helge Schneider have made the journey to Arosa, the former Walser settlement at the end of the Schanfigger valley.
Graubünden's biggest cultural event is not held in the well-known resort town. It is carried out in a circus marquee erected specifically for the festival in the middle of the skiing pistes, near the Tschuggenhütte. As always, Arosa does more than just welcome the big names of the comedy and cabaret circuit – it also offers a platform for rising stars and new-comers. Fans can reach the marquee by foot or by cable car, and can sledge or ski back down to the village after the show.
